This is an eco-cultural tour of an ancient classroom, offering guests the opportunity to connect with the rich culture, stories and traditions of the Bangerang People. Guided by local Aboriginal hosts through the Collendina landscape, you will learn how Bangerang ancestors taught their children culture, survival and connection to Country through storytelling, knowledge sharing and everyday practices.
Listen to the stories of Collendina passed down through Bangerang Elders as you explore culturally significant sites, including an ancient midden carbon dated at over 11,000 years old. Along the way, you will see scarred trees and important cultural heritage sites while gaining a deeper understanding of the enduring connection between people, land and waterways.
The experience also includes a traditional-inspired cook and eat component, where guests can learn about native ingredients, cultural food practices and the importance of sharing food on Country. Dhurra Dhatj – Cook & Eat is a meaningful opportunity to slow down, listen, learn and experience one of the world’s oldest living cultures.
