Tongaloga – Big Water is an immersive eco-cultural experience for men, women and families, offering a unique opportunity to connect with the rich history, culture and stories of Bangerang Country.
Guided by Uncle Dozer, guests will learn about the pre-settlement history of the lake and the deep cultural connections Aboriginal people have maintained with this landscape for thousands of years. As you explore this sacred place, you will encounter scarred trees, manipulated limbs and other significant cultural heritage features that reveal the enduring presence of the Bangerang People on Country.
Listen to the sounds of the Yidakki (didgeridoo) echo across the water and hear the story of Tommy McRae (Yackaduna), shared through his descendants, providing a powerful connection to local history and cultural knowledge.
This experience offers a meaningful opportunity to slow down, listen and learn while gaining a deeper understanding of the traditions, stories and cultural significance of the waterways and landscapes that have sustained generations of Aboriginal people. Light refreshments are provided during the tour.
